Our Quality Assurance

At NORTwood, we follow strict quality assurance practices to ensure our clients receive high-quality products every time they place an order. In the case of wall cladding products, this involves a range of industry-leading tests and a QC checklist that involves the following steps:

Raw Material Evaluation

All raw materials in our facility are tested in our labs to ensure their resilience. Only passing units are sent forward.

Manufacturing Checks

Tests are conducted at different stages of the manufacturing process to ensure each stage’s purpose is met. For instance, ensuring that process conditions do not degrade wood fillers. Wood starts to degrade around 220°C.

Product Checks

We recommend a power wash of less than 3100 PSI to remove stubborn accumulated dirt or mud. The fan attachment and ensuring the water jet isn’t applied any closer than 250 mm away from the surface will prevent damage.

Use these tips to maintain the pristine look of each board. We recommend cleaning along the length of each panel to prevent dirt and debris from accumulating, which can otherwise collect moisture leading to mould. You can remove the mould using the tips mentioned in this maintenance guide. ,

Use a composite cladding cleaner on stubborn stains. The formulation is designed specifically to remove oil from this material. Please note that the stain should be addressed in the first 7 days of appearing for the best results.

Post Production Checks

A visual inspection is conducted before an order or wall cladding product is dispatched to ensure tolerances and root out manufacturing defects.

Manufacturing defects can include the following:

  • Cracking, warping, or broken material.
  • Blistering and splitting.
  • Crumbling or delimitation.
  • Voids in the material.

NORTwood Quality Assurance

The service life for NORTwood wall cladding and siding solutions varies from 10 to 25 years, depending on the products chosen and usage. If the products are used in a manner that they are designed to be used, breakdowns or damage before the warranty expires is not imminent.

Our warranty does not cover any damaged product due to misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. Our cladding and siding products are packaged for protection during transportation and handling. We recommend storing vertical panels in a manner that prevents warping and twisting. Please verify on delivery that the panels arrived undamaged.
